The Charleston FSOB event will showcase a 2 on 2 breakdance competition. So here's your chance to show off your skills and dance with a variety of breakers. We invite any crew of two from the surrounding areas of the Carolina's, Georgia, Florida, and any other area to get down with us for a HUGE event!
The competition will consist of 2-man/or woman crews. Three rounds during the night.
Each round will be music style themed, as early hip-hop will begin in the first round, 2nd round will be a mixture of hip-hop and breaks, and 3rd round will consist of dance breakbeat. So surviving crews will have to dance through a style of music during each round to see how they transform their styles during the night.
The first round each crew will get a chance to go against all the other crews. Depending on how many crews will register in the end. Judges will eliminate the weakest links. We thought it be proper to do it that way so we don't have a battle crew with just one other crew during that round. We certainly didn't want to match up two crews who are top notch, and one of them can't move to the next round. We want the best to be in the final round. So the chosen best will go into the next round, and the same process will repeat.
So there are 3 rounds during the night, and each round (again depending on how many crews sign up) will last about an hour. After that round is over there will be an 1 hour wait till the next round so the rest of the crowd can inter-mingle again, and crews can take a rest, practice, or plan a routine.
As there will not be enough room on the stage with the dj setup, the battle will be in the center of the crowd. We will have security inside the circle to watch out for people so no one can interfere with the crews. There will be an announcer starting the battles. There will be 2 projector screens on the stage and cameras should be positioned to point at the circle so EVERYONE CAN see what is going on!
The cash prize is set at $500, and that's guaranteed to the final crew winners of the competition!
Registration can be taken online, or BEFORE 6:30pm day of the show at the Farm (but not guaranteed). There is no registration fees, and crew participants will be allowed FREE ADMISSION! First heat will begin at 7pm. Sign up NOW!
